Why Muslim Women and Sisters Should Be Allowed to Work

Brother, if you ask sisters not to work, we are likely to suffer the consequences. I use a Muslim hospital. If the female doctors and nurses are not allowed to work there, perhaps my wife would be handled by non Muslims or male doctors.

As we speak, if we permit all wives to withdraw from their jobs and businesses, many homes will break down because these men can not singlehandedly foot the bills. If you want to keep full time house wives, open accounts for them, let them have allowances saved for unforseen situations.

We should rather encourage decent jobs, professions, and businesses for our teaming sisters and the engagements that will be done without affecting their primary objectives. As a brother, marry a good woman with religious and amazing home training. If you are blessed with a spouse that really fears Allah, you are a successful individual.

If you fear her access to money can make her unsubmissive, disrespectful, and disobedient, then your fear is genuine, but you have married a misfit. Since our government does not fund marriages, before we come up with this verdict, I will suggest we sponsor a bill that caters for divorcees, widows etc with their children after marriages fail, this will help.

For instance, your wife works in a Muslim school and earns salary. She goes and comes back home with the children. Their school fees are subsidized because she is a staff member, and above all, the children are always around her. This is better.

You have decided to keep your wife away from working, but any form of disagreement in the homefront, you will go out without giving her money. If other sisters see the way your wife suffered as a full-time housewife, they will reject the idea, but if your wife can express the happiness and joy in being a full-time housewife. It will encourage other sisters.

Some women are moving from one marriage to another because they have nothing to eat except a man gives them. If you propose marriage to them, the next you get is how they want to pay bills. We have seen women who beg to sleep in classrooms, hostels, and shops because they got divorced. During this divorce, what happens to her since she has not been working or the inevitable death, most women have nothing to fall back on. I think we need to revisit the subject matter.

Always pay attention to details.
